Quango is proud to deliver their second 12”, JOL’s ‘Cool Cat’, an uplifting chord-driven groove taken from this year’s Nordic Exposure compilation. In addition to the original, we’ve enlisted Nordic studio bods, Butti49 and Swell Session, to provide exclusive remixes, aimed straight at dancefloor DJ’s.
Based in Stavanger, Norway, Butti49 first made a splash a few years back with their self-released debut 7” ‘Brasilikum,’ which received loads of play from top DJ’s around the world. Snorre and Oyvind, who make up Butti49, have since become one of the top remix talents on the nu-jazz/electronic scene. On this mix, the boys keep most of the original elements, while jazzing it up with some added production.
Andreas Saag aka Swell Session has also become one of the most saught after remix choices for many labels. After he dropped the gorgeous “Music In Her Eyes” (also featured on Nordic Exposure) on his own Hollow Records two years back, he has been steadily releasing quality productions that draw influence from jazz, latin, techno, and house. Andreas decided to take us on a 9 and half minute journey that will ruff up any party. Listen closely, as there is a melange of sounds that add up to make this an absolutely slamming mix.
